Dr. James W. Willis, DDS

Dr. James W. Willis is dedicated to providing top-quality dental care and leading a team of highly skilled clinicians at Crozet Family Dental — our sister practice in Albemarle County. After taking over ownership of the Crozet practice from Dr. Emery Taylor, DDS, Dr. Willis has remained committed to the legacy of excellence in the Crozet community while introducing a vision centered on patient-first care, advanced clinical mentorship, and the use of the industry's finest materials.

While Dr. Willis oversees the clinical standards of the entire practice network, he now spends the majority of his time providing high-level training and mentorship to the next generation of dentists. By sharing his extensive expertise, he ensures that every patient receives care that meets his exacting standards for quality and precision.

In his own clinical practice, Dr. Willis now limits his time to high-end cosmetic and complex restorative dentistry. He specializes in transformative cases, including custom porcelain veneers, All-on-X full-arch implant rehabilitations, advanced smile makeovers, and full-mouth reconstruction.

Dr. Willis has worked closely with new dental technology, including serving as a test pilot for some of the industry's first AI diagnostic software. That interest in innovation keeps the practice current with new clinical techniques as they emerge. Under his leadership, the network has earned designations including Platinum Plus Invisalign provider — the highest designation for any general dentist in the Charlottesville region. His work has been recognized with accolades that include being voted a Top Dentist in Virginia Living Magazine, receiving a Best Chairside Manner award from OurHealth, and being named a Family Favorite by Charlottesville Family.

Outside of the office, Dr. Willis enjoys a fulfilling life in Albemarle County with his three children. An outdoor enthusiast at heart, he can often be found exploring the Virginia landscape, cooking for his family, or adding to his collection of rare whiskey.
