INVISALIGN
Why Should I Be Interested in Invisalign?
Invisalign is the largest dental orthodontic company in the world valued at the time of this writing at over 20 billion. It is without a doubt the most advanced teeth straightening system available. At Willis & Associates Family Dentistry, we are committed to giving our patientst the best in dentistry- which is why we have focused on this breakthrough technology. Invisalign is the only treatment for straightening teeth that does so with minimal interference in how you live. New advancements in the last few years have made it not only incredibly accurate but also 3-4 times faster treatment time compared to metal and wire braces. Crooked and protruding teeth are unsightly and in some cases can cause overbite, underbite, and severe malocclusion, exposing you to greater risk of gum disease, cavities, and severe wear of enamel. Invisalign offers a convenient, secure, and comfortable treatment for getting a confident and healthy smile. Invisalign aligners are clear and virtually undetectable. Protect the health and beauty of your smile with the most advanced orthodontic system!
What Are the Advantages of Invisalign?
Comparing Traditional Orthodontics (Braces with Brackets and Wires) to Invisalign Clear Aligners
Look Natural
Invisalign aligners are clear, allowing you to avoid the unsightliness of traditional braces. This is one of the most significant advantages of Invisalign over traditional orthodontics. Many people of all ages and professions value the natural look of Invisalign and prefer not to wear braces. The Invisalign aligners are virtually undetectable and much less intrusive in the mouth than braces, allowing you to look good and speak more cleanly than with braces. Invisalign can perfect your smile without drawing attention to it.
Retain the Flexibility of Removing Your Aligner.
Invisalign aligners must be worn 20 to 22 hours a day to be effective, but the freedom to remove your aligner makes all the difference in the world. You can eat and drink your favorite food and beverages, and (if the opportunity arises) kiss somebody you love without dealing with the inconvenience of bulky braces.
Avoid the Pain and Awkwardness of Traditional Braces.
A certain amount of discomfort is natural as your teeth move and realign, but with Invisalign you don’t have the wires and brackets of braces poking and rubbing against your mouth. Invisalign is an easier and more comfortable form of orthodontics.
Rest Easy with the Dependability of Invisalign.
Invisalign also simplifies the orthodontic treatment, removing the complexity of traditional approaches. With braces there is the risk that a bracket could break, causing an orthodontic emergency visit. Invisalign aligners are simple and worry free.
Keep Your Teeth Clean and Healthy.
In addition to removing your Invisalign aligner tray for eating you can also do so to clean your teeth. This is a huge advantage for your personal oral hygiene routine. You can continue cleaning your teeth as usual. With braces patients must take extreme care in cleaning their teeth or risk developing cavities and dental sensitivity. Invisalign solves all that. Invisalign clear aligners are also much less intrusive, causing much less wear on teeth than traditional metal braces.
Appreciate a Treatment Made Just for You.
The Invisalign aligner is customized individually to fit your teeth. Willis Family Dentistry uses the latest technology with Itero Element Digital Scanners ensuring the most accurate impression of your full dental arch and avoiding the hassle of traditional dental impressions. The accuracy of your impression is the key to amazing results. With Willis Family Dentistry you’ll receive state of the art accuracy in developing your Invisalign aligners. Rest assured digital aligner treatment is a focal point of our office, we are one of the few dental groups in North America with four Itero Element scanners.
Save Time.
In many cases Invisalign will reduce the amount of time you spend in the office compared to other treatments. The average Invisalign treatment will be complete in 6 months with visits every 6 to 12 weeks. If you have a deadline approaching, we now offer the new Propel system which can further decrease treatment time. We are currently the only office offering the Propel system in Central Virginia at the time of this writing.
Invisalign Experts
We are Invisalign experts. Willis Family Dentistry is the first Premier Preferred Provider in Augusta County and the first Premier Preferred GP practice in the Albemarle County / Charlottesville area. In 2018 we became the first Platinum providers in the aforementioned areas (an even higher designation than the former “elite providers”). This is a special status that Invisalign grants to top Invisalign providers in North America. Four of our five dentists are Invisalign providers, and Dr. Willis is a member of an elite group of top Invisalign GPs in North America, led by Dr. David Galler of Manhattan, NY. Additionally, Dr. Willis serves on the executive committee of the American Academy of Clear Aligners, the leading group of doctors specializing in Invisalign and other clear aligner technologies, and the Reingage group. We are one of the few Invisalign Platinum Providers in the state of Virginia, and we are the only group practice in Central Virginia with four Itero element digital scanners. If you’re interested in Invisalign we are the practice for you.
What Is Involved in the Invisalign Treatment Process?
After your dental impression has been scanned and a series of digital photographs taken, we process this information using Invisalign’s advanced software. Your results are reviewed by your Invisalign expert at Willis Family Dentistry and Invisalign Design Headquarters and used to create an individualized treatment plan for you. About every two weeks you will receive new Invisalign aligners to gradually and gently move your teeth into place.
We Now Offer the Propel System to Speed up Treatment Time.
Propel is a state of the art system for decreasing the total Invisalign treatment time, cutting the length of time for each tray from two weeks to three to five days. The Propel System is recommended for patients on a deadline. A good example would be a bride who would like to achieve the perfect smile by the wedding day. The Propel System involves an additional initial procedure and requires patients to spend ten minutes a day at home using a mouthpiece that gently vibrates. The Propel technology not only decreases treatment time, but increases the predictability of difficult cases.
How Do I Care for My Aligners?
It is important to brush your teeth after every meal before placing your Invisalign aligner back in your mouth. Food spots and unclean teeth can stain the clear aligner. For cleaning the aligner Invisalign recommends their specialized cleaning system, but aligners may also be cleaned by brushing and rinsing with lukewarm water. Your aligner should not be rinsed in hot water which can warp the plastic damaging the aligner.
