How do I choose a dentist for my family?

How often should I brush and floss?

Twice a day for brushing and once a day for flossing is the baseline most people need. If you have gum disease, recent restorations, or a history of cavities, your hygienist may recommend brushing after lunch or using interdental brushes in addition to floss. We'll tell you specifically what works for your mouth at your cleaning visit.

How often should I come in for a checkup?

The American Dental Association recommends a cleaning and exam every six months for most healthy adults. If you have active gum disease, a high cavity rate, or are mid-treatment, we may ask you to come more often. If your mouth is in great shape, we may extend it. The cadence is set per patient, not by a rule.

How do I make an appointment?

Call us at 540-885-8037 Monday through Friday, 8am to 5pm, or use our online booking. Both routes connect to the same calendar — there's no penalty for one or the other. New patients usually get scheduled within a week or two.

We accept most PPO dental plans and submit claims as a courtesy. Bring your card on the first visit so the front desk can verify benefits and give you an accurate cost estimate before any treatment. If you're uninsured, ask about Virginia Dental Club — it's an affordable membership program built for people who pay out of pocket.

I'm anxious about the dentist. Can you help?

Yes. Tell us at the start of the visit, or even when you book — we'll plan extra time, talk through everything before we start, and offer nitrous oxide if you'd like to try it. Many of our long-time patients started out anxious. The first visit is usually the hardest one.

Yes — we welcome the whole family. Children under 18 need a parent or guardian present for the first visit. The team is comfortable working with younger patients and will adjust pace and language to match the child in the chair.

What if I have a dental emergency?

Call the office at 540-885-8037 right away. During business hours we'll get you scheduled the same day whenever we can. Outside business hours, leave a message and we'll route you to the right resource. For severe trauma, uncontrolled bleeding, or signs of a serious infection (high fever, facial swelling that's spreading), go to your nearest emergency room or Augusta Health.

Where is the office, and is parking easy?

We're at 41 South Medical Park Drive, Suite 100, in Fishersville — across from the Augusta Health main hospital campus, easy on/off from US-250. There's free parking right next to the building.

Do you offer financing or payment plans?

Yes. We accept CareCredit, work with most major credit cards, and offer in-office payment options for larger treatment plans. Co-payments and patient portions are due at the time of service, and you'll always have a written estimate before treatment begins so there are no surprises.
